An HDMI Adapter for Wii

For those of you who love playing the Wii and are still using the standard composite cable that came with it, there’s good news – a third-party accessory is available that allows you to play games with 480p resolution. It’s called the Wii2HDMI adapter and it’s from the popular Neoya company. Neyo? No..no..not the singer, Neoya! Never heard of em? It’s one of two divisions of Sharewide LTD based in Hong Kong. Neoya.com primarily ships electronic accessories manufactured by the other division, “Neoya-made products”. Now, back to this awesome adapter!

Thanks to the Wii2HDMI there’s no need to fumble around with a bunch of sloppy, messy cords; instead, you get to enjoy the convenience of handling one clean, neat cord. This adapter has a 3.5mm jack to connect your speakers so you can immerse yourself with all the sounds a banana-hunting gorilla usually makes while playing “Donkey Kong Country Returns”.

The Wii2HDMI supports display modes 480i, 480p for NTSC and 576i for PAL. If you already have 480p resolution with your Wii, no need to pay the 39.95 it costs to use this adapter because there’ll be no difference in picture quality. Also, It’s quite big at 3 inches so spare some extra room. And it won’t be aesthetically pleasing if you have a sleek, black Wii; the adapter is white with blue lettering, so that’s disappointing if that kind of thing is important to you.

You might be able to find a ton of good deals on HD Component cables that allow you to play with 480p resolution, but since HDMI is all digital it’ll continuously give you high quality picture whereas analog can worsen depending on the length of the cables and/or condition. Keep in mind, this is the only HDMI cable for Wii. Neoya prides themselves in manufacturing non-mainstream electronic products, so if you want an HDMI cable for Wii, you’re getting it from them. They also offer a HDMI cable for 7.95.

Since we’ve transition to digital, maybe the next generation console Nintendo comes out with will have an HDMI-out port, but until then the Wii2HDMI will have to do.
