1.64 billion for national identity card, 71 thousand 24 distribution

In the last two years, Rs 1.64 billion has been spent for the national identity card. In the 58th report of the Auditor General, it has been mentioned that Rs 1.64 billion was spent for the national identity card program last year and this year as well.

As of mid-July last year, 71,024 national identity cards have been distributed. As of mid-July 2077 BS, out of 114,739 products produced and printed, only 71,024 national identity cards have been distributed.

In the report of the Auditor General, it has been mentioned that 17 percent Nepalis have set a target of arranging national identity cards this year.

In the policy and program of the Government of Nepal 2076/77, it was mentioned in the budget statement and within two years, all Nepalis will be provided with national identity card.

In addition, the Office of the Auditor General has directed to achieve the expected target by conducting the program as per the annual policy and program and budget statement.
