41,000 people signed a petition to stop Jeff Bezos from returning to Earth from space travel

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is set to go into space next month. That’s why 41,000 people have signed a petition to stop Jeff Bezos from returning to Earth from space travel.

Bezos, founder of the space exploration firm Blue Origin, said he and his brother, Mark Bezos, would go into space on the company’s first manned rover on the New Shepherd rocket.

Three days after his announcement, two petitions have been made public to stop his return to Earth. Both the petitions have received thousands of followers in a span of ten days. 23,000 people have signed the petition titled ‘Do Not Allow Jeff Bezos to Return to Earth’ on the website Change.org.

The petition states that billionaires should not be on earth or in space and should stay where they want to go. Commenting on the petition, some people wrote that returning to earth is not a right but a privilege. Another person wrote that the earth does not need other billionaires like Bezos, Bill Gates, Alan Musk.

Similarly, 18,000 people have signed the petition titled ‘Petition to Not Allow Jeff Bezos Re-Entry to Earth’. Both the petitions aim to get 25,000 signatures. Bezos and his brother will go on an 11-minute space flight.

The winner of the Blue Origin auction, which sold for २८ 28 billion, will also travel to space in a capsule. Their journey will only be to the Carmen Line, which is like the boundary of space. Its distance is 62 miles.
