500 million will be allocated for the operation of electric bus and charging station will be constructed in Bagmati province
Bagmati Pradesh has allocated Rs. 500 million for the operation of electric bus service with necessary infrastructure in collaboration with the Government of Nepal.
Presenting the budget for the coming fiscal year 2078/79 in the state assembly on Tuesday, Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Kailash Prasad Dhungel said that Rs. 500 million has been allocated for the operation of electric bus service.
He said that necessary budget has been allocated for the establishment of charging stations to encourage the use of electric vehicles and to build and operate integrated smart refresh and transfer centers with electric charging stations in suitable places of Kathmandu-Mugling and Bharatpur-Hatauda sections in collaboration with the private sector.
The state has budgeted for the development and implementation of ‘Your Security App’ in coordination with the police to end violence and other abuses against children and women in public transport.
Similarly, the state has allocated budget to operate the activities including revenue payment through electronic system to make the service provided by the Transport Management Office fast and effective.
