64 CCTV cameras connected in Bhaktapur

64 CCTV cameras have been installed in Bhaktapur.

Chief Additional Inspector General (AIG) of the Metropolitan Police Office, Ranipokhari, Hari Bahadur Pal inaugurated 64 modern CCTV cameras installed in the Bhaktapur area during a program organized at the Metropolitan Police Complex, Bhaktapur on Friday.

The CCTV has been installed in the road section from Jadibuti to Palase on the Arani Highway in Bhaktapur and in places including the Metropolitan Police Complex Bhaktapur with the help of locals, various banks and financial institutions and industrialists.

At the event, Additional Inspector General of Police Pal presented letters of appreciation and testimonials to donors, connection committee officials, former Superintendent of Police Dhrub Ratna Hada and police personnel who helped install CCTV cameras.

On the occasion, he said that CCTV would be of great help in maintaining peace and security in the society and added that such activities should be continued in the days to come. He said that CCTV cameras would facilitate successful investigation of any incident.

Special guest of the program, Chief District Officer of Bhaktapur, Prem Prasad Bhattarai, thanked the donors for providing financial support for CCTV connection as the investment made in the society will not be wasted in any time. He said that CCTV would help in discouraging the criminals.

Bhaktapur District CCTV Connection Committee Coordinator and Chairperson of the program Pradip Shrestha expressed his gratitude at the event. Chief Superintendent of Police Tara Devi Thapa of the Metropolitan Police Complex Bhaktapur expressed welcome remarks.

Sanjeev Manandhar, General Manager of Prime Commercial Bank Limited, Jagat Prajapati, President of Bhaktapur District Federation of Journalists, Manson Lakhemaru, Engineer of CCTV Camera Connection Committee and Navin Prajapati, Treasurer of Connection Committee also expressed their views.
