A person was arrested for sending obscene messages to friends using the name of a minor on Facebook

Kathmandu. A young man has been arrested on the charge of causing mental stress by creating a fake account with the name and photo of a minor on Facebook and sending obscene messages. The police team deployed from the Cyber ​​Bureau arrested the person from Bhotahiti Chowk in Kathmandu last Thursday.

The arrested person is 37-year-old Rajkumar Maharjan of Kathmandu Kirtipur. According to the bureau, a complaint was received in the office that a fake Facebook account was created with the name and picture of a minor. The parents of the minor had complained that the accused person was sending messages from the fake account to friends connected with the minor on Facebook.

In this way, Maharjan was arrested while investigating the complaint after character assassination by causing mental stress, distress and harassment to the minor. He is being investigated by the Kathmandu District Court for an offense under the Electronic Transactions Act, 2063 with an extension of seven days.
