About 2 billion investment has entered into Worldlink

Worldlink, the largest internet service provider in Nepal, has invested around two billion. During a program on Monday, British International Investment and Dolma Impact Fund jointly invested 1 billion 98 million in Worldlink, the company informed.

British International Investment (BII) will invest 8.4 million dollars, i.e. 1.8 billion rupees, while Dolma Impact Fund has invested 6.9 million dollars, i.e. 900 million Nepali rupees, according to the company.

Worldlink has previously received an investment of 12 million dollars from British International Investment in October 2019, which is equivalent to 1.35 billion Nepalese rupees.

The previous investment and the current investment have reached 27.2 million dollars or 3.33 billion in the company, which is the highest ever in the Internet service industry.

Dilip Agarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of the company said that the investment of British International Investment and Dolma Impact Fund will help in creating 1000 more jobs and provide training for improving the skills of employees.

Likewise, Abhinav Sinha, managing director of Pravidhi and Telecom of British International Investment, said that through additional investment, reliable and cheap internet services will reach Nepal and help the local economy.

At the event, British Ambassador to Nepal Nicola Pollitt said that she was proud of the support and cooperation provided by British International Investment to Worldlink, which is trying to provide Internet access worldwide.

Similarly, Professor Tim Gochar OBE, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Dolma Fund Management informed that digital is the fastest growing economic industry in Nepal.
