Agreement with MITY University, Dubai to conduct research in astronomy

The Nepal Astronomical Society (NASO) has entered into an agreement with MITY University in Dubai to conduct research and exchange knowledge on astronomy.

Following the agreement, the society has provided training to the space science students studying at the undergraduate level on the campus of the university.

Speaking on the occasion organized by the society on the occasion of completing its 14th year and entering its 15th year, Chairman Suresh Bhattarai said that an agreement has been signed with the university two years ago to create an environment for exchanging manpower.

The society has also taught Dubai students to search for asteroids. Due to the Corona epidemic, Nepal did not have the opportunity to study with the university, according to the society.

Speaking on the occasion, Sharatraj Nandarajan Ansari Shyamla, who has been teaching space science at the University of Dubai, said that the cooperation between the two institutions has benefited astronomy and space science.

Dr. Sudip Bhattarai, Associate Professor of Pulchowk Engineering Campus, informed that space science study and teaching is being done in Pulchowk, Nepal. He said that the students who are studying at the undergraduate level for four years are going to complete the level after one year.

Dayanidhi Chatkuli, an associate professor at Tribhuvan University’s Trichandra Campus, said that the number of people interested in astronomy has been increasing since the study of astronomy was started in Nepal.

Prem Raj Joshi, a life member of the society, said that interest in astronomy has increased among school level students in the far-western states. He said that the study and research was hampered due to lack of access to telescopes for students and teachers.

The Society was established in 2064 BS with the objective of conducting public awareness activities related to astronomy and space science in Nepal. After the establishment of the society, an environment has been created for study and research in this field. रासस
