Announcing 8 winners of ‘My Digital Nepal, My Vision’ competition, Neha won Rs 1 lakh

The winners of the My Second Teacher ‘My Digital Nepal, My Vision’ competition organized by Living ICT have been announced.

Prizes have been awarded to the winners at a special event held at the Salty Hotel on Friday. Neha Giri, a class 12 student of St. Xavier’s College, Maitighar, bagged the first prize of the competition.

She won one lakh rupees for being the best composition of the essay competition titled ‘My Digital Nepal, My Imagination’.

Prashna Subedi, who is studying in class 10 at Radhakrishna Tharu Higher Secondary School, Guleriya-6, Bardiya, and Ridam Bhetwal, who has been given SEE from Ratna State Medium School, Baneshwor, are in the second place.
Prashna had written a poem titled ‘Fulfill My Dream: Digital Nepal’ while Ridam had written an essay titled ‘Digital Nepal of My Dream’. They have each received 50,000 cash prizes.

Among the four are Manakamana Secondary School Birtamod, Asim Dangol from Jhapa, Tri-Padma Vidyashram Secondary School Pulchowk, Anish Shrestha from Lalitpur, Udhan Thakur studying in class 10 at Budhanilkantha School, Kathmandu and Brihaspati Vidyasadan studying in class 7 at Naxal Kathmandu. Chaudhary.

Asim wrote a poem titled ‘Digital Nepal: A Dream’ while Anish made a video presentation titled ‘Beautiful, calm, giant, digital Nepal of my imagination’. Similarly, Uddhav did an essay titled ‘Way to Digital Nepal’ and specially did art on the theme ‘My Digital Nepal’. Everyone who gets horizontal has received Rs 25,000 in cash.

Similarly, a group of students had prepared a framework titled ‘Digital and Prosperous Nepal’ in the competition. The Evaluation Panel has decided to give special honor to this framework by awarding Special Mansion Award to Prashan Kumar Regmi, Shashank Neupane, Arya Prasai and Amim Singh of Kathmandu Model Secondary School, Bagbazar. They have won a special prize of Rs 51,151.

In addition, the winner will receive attractive offers from sponsoring companies. Dishome has given a special gift of one year internet and top sponsor My Second Teacher to all the winners.

For the first time in Nepal, the new generation was invited to participate in the competition titled ‘My Digital Nepal, My Vision’ with the objective of making the new generation aware about information and communication technology.

In the competition, more than 350 thoughts and ideas were received through essays, poems, articles, pictures, speeches and video presentations.

An 11-member evaluation committee was formed to select the best from more than 350 participants in the competition. The members of the evaluation committee evaluated each composition and shortlisted it. Prizes have been distributed to the best eight compositions through the long process of the evaluation committee.

The winners were announced by Tara Devi Bhatt, Member of the National Assembly and Chairperson of the Committee on Sustainable Development and Good Governance, Mahendra Man Gurung, Chief Information Commissioner; Baikustha Aryal, Secretary at the Ministry of Education and Science Technology Shuresh Acharya, former Minister Ganesh Shah and others presented the award.

Addressing a special function here today, Chief Guest Tara Devi Bhatta said that the ideas of children would inspire the government to make the Digital Nepal campaign meaningful. She said that the new generation of students has a lot of knowledge about digital Nepal and she has the ability to teach the old generation. Similarly, Secretary of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Baikustha Aryal said that there should be participation and cooperation from all quarters for the implementation of the digital framework of the Government of Nepal.

“Implementing the framework of Digital Nepal is thought to be the responsibility of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, but it is not,” she said.

Chief Information Commissioner Mahendra Man Gurung said that the sector that has benefited the most in the current Corona transition is information and communication technology, which has helped every sector to work smoothly.

He said that it was difficult to develop the information and communication technology sector in Nepal and the Government of Nepal had brought Digital Nepal Framework to facilitate it. He said that it is very important for the development of information and communication technology sector of Nepal not only to create this framework but also to implement it.

Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Shuresh Acharya, said that education and technology should be linked for the development of Nepal’s information and communication technology sector.

Birendra Mishra, coordinator of the committee, said that the best ones were selected after 5 rounds of selection. Mishra said, “We got a lot of great thoughts and ideas from different genres. After many rounds of selection, we chose the best eight, but there were many better designs and ideas.”

Manohar Bhattarai, an information and communication expert and advisor to the competition, said that it has taken a lot of time and effort to create a digital framework for Nepal, adding that it will be implemented gradually. He said that this framework covers a lot of things, some of which may be missing, adding that it needs to be further refined.

Rajan Lamsal, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, said that the My Digital Nepal My Vision program has helped thousands of students in closed rooms to think, study and awaken the government and stakeholders to make tomorrow a prosperous Nepal.
