Smartwatches are very hot right now. And there is one name that really stands out from the rest in this segment, Apple. Apple Watch is the first choice for most individuals looking for a smart wearable even in Nepal. So today, we will be discussing the latest price and availability of the Apple Watch in Nepal.

But a piece of sad news for Nepalese enthusiasts is that no entry in the Apple Watch Series has officially entered the country. Even the authorized distributors of Apple products in Nepal import them through other mediums to deliver Apple Watch to domestic customers.

And as it stands, there are 4 generations of Apple Watch available in Nepal – Series 3, Series 6, Series 7, and the inaugural Watch SE.

And about their pricing, because they’re not officially imported, most distributors levy charges on the US rate of the particular model as the selling price.

Apple Watch Series 3

Released in 2017, Apple Watch Series 3 introduced cellular connectivity (LTE) in the company’s lineup of smartwatches. That means you can enjoy voice and data communication. That is if you have an eSIM that is not currently available in Nepal.

Besides that, Apple Watch Series 3 comes with the Apple S3 processor, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, in-built GPS, and more. There are two variants of the Apple Watch Series 3 with 38 and 42mm cases. It is also water-resistant up to 50 meters.

At launch, the Series 3 came with watchOS 4 out-of-the-box, while it has been updated to the latest watchOS 8 as of now.

But if you’re an iPhone user, you should note that the Series 3 isn’t compatible with iPhone 6 & older iPhones, and only works with 6s or newer models.

Apple Watch SE

In 2020, Apple unveiled the more affordable Watch SE alongside the mainstream Watch Series 6. The watch was supposed to replace the Watch Series 3 in the entry-level segment. Apple Watch SE is up to two times faster than the Series 3, thanks to the newer S5 SiP.

Likewise, it sports the same design as the more expensive Watch Series 6 along with its “essential” features. The watch case is made from 100% recycled aluminum.

More specifically, Apple Watch SE has the same accelerometer, gyroscope, motion sensors, microphones, and always-on altimeter as its bigger sibling. It also runs the same software.

However, it misses out on Blood Oxygen, ECG, and fast charging features.

Apple Watch Series 6

Apple announced the Watch Series 6 amidst the pandemic, and the company took most minutes of the launch event talking about its Blood Oxygen feature. The watch has clusters of colored LEDs and photodiodes to record users’ SpO2 levels. Users can set the watch to record SpO2 levels automatically periodically.

Another highlight of the Apple Watch Series 6 is the S6 SiP which boasts performance boosts of up to 20% without compromising the 18 hours of battery life. Likewise, the watch also has an Ultra Wideband U1 chip for features like digital car keys.

Apple also made the screen 2.5 times brighter than its predecessor and added an all-time altimeter. Software-wise, watchOS 7 brought features like low-range VO2 Max, automatic detection, and a range of new workout modes.

Apple Watch Series 7

Finally, let’s get into the latest Apple Watch Series 7. Expectations were quite big on this one as initial rumors and leaks hinted at a substantial upgrade for the first time in years. However, it was later revealed to be just another incremental upgrade in the Watch Series lineup.

Apple Watch Series brings a new Always-On Retina display with almost 20% more screen real estate than its predecessor. Apple reduced the bezels to a minimum and added more curvature at the corners for a more immersive experience. Likewise, it can also get up to 70% brighter than its predecessor.

Apple has also fine-tuned the watchOS software to go with the new screen. This includes a customized watch interface and even exclusive watch faces. Watch Series 7 is also the first in the series to have IP6X dust resistance on top of the usual 50ATM water resistance.

Apple Watch Ultra

The Apple Watch Ultra is the company’s entry into the rugged smartwatch market. It’s beefier and heavier, and it’s aimed squarely at athletes, adventurers, and explorers who take on the most challenging situations across the world. So it has a bunch of exclusive features you will not find on any other Apple Watch.

The watch has been tested to military standards, can withstand water pressure of up to 100 meters, and is dust resistant (IP6X). The watch case is made of Titanium which now has an orange accent “Action Button” that can be customized to trigger features such as a compass, workouts, and more. It even has an 86dB siren built in, which Apple claims is loud enough to warn people up to 800 meters away.

Aside from these extreme features, the Watch can track all of your health metrics. It is powered by an S8 chip for smooth performance and comes with watchOS 9. It also includes a dual-band global positioning system (GPS) for more accurate location readings.

The Watch Ultra has a battery life of up to 36 hours, which is the longest of any Apple smartwatch to date. With Low Power Mode, you can extend it up to 60 hours.
