Asus ZenFone 8 Flip Leaks, Rumors, Specifications, Features

Mechanical cameras in smartphones are already out of style with practically every major brand abandoning them. That is, except Asus. The company’s ZenFone 7 series is probably the only device with a flip camera that is still in circulation. According to the latest leaks, the upcoming Asus ZenFone 8 Flip will retain the flip camera mechanism that has been a distinct feature since the ZenFone 6.

Asus ZenFone 8 Series Leaks:

ZenFone 8 Flip

In order to differentiate it from the vanilla model, Asus has stuck “Flip” in the moniker of the device. As we have seen in the past, such a flipping camera mechanism will allow the camera module to rotate 180˚ so that it can act as the selfie camera too. Because of this, Asus won’t be including a separate sensor in the front for selfies. As a result, the display will remain clean without any notch and cut-out as seen in the latest leaks.

Indian leakster Ishan Agarwal and 91mobiles have published the renders and specifications of the Asus ZenFone 8 Flip. Based on the leak, it is safe to assume that the phone will be available in at least two color options. The power button on the phone stands out because of the blue accent. The phone will be on the heavier side (230 grams) because of the flipping mechanism and the 5,000mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging.

Coming to the front, it will feature a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with support for a 90Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset coupled with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.

The camera module will include a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP macro lens. You will also be able to record 8K videos with this setup.

Rumored specifications:

  • Display: 67-inch FHD+ AMOLED, 90Hz refresh rate

  • Memory: 8GB RAM, 256GB storage

ZenFone 8

Moving on, Asus ZenFone 8 is the cheaper option in the series. It won’t have flipping cameras but what sets it apart is its compact size. The phone will feature a 5.92-inch FHD+ panel. It will be powered by Snapdragon 888 chip and will come in an 8/128GB memory configuration. It will retain the 64MP primary sensor and the 12MP macro lens but will miss out on the telephoto lens. The battery is also smaller at 4,000mAh but the charging speed will be the same at 30W. Also, this one will also have a 3.5mm headphone jack.
