Best Mobile Phones Under 40000 in Nepal –
With cut-throat competition in the mid-range segment, no one will blame you if you have to think more than twice about all the available options. So, if you’re looking for the best phones under NPR 40000 in Nepal, you are in luck. This list is actually almost identical to our recently updated list of best midrange phones in Nepal (30K-45K). Therefore, I’ll be keeping things super simple here. Let’s begin.
Best mobile phones under NPR 40000 in Nepal:
5. OnePlus Nord N10 5G
Kicking off our list of best phones under NPR 40000 in Nepal is the OnePlus Nord N10 5G. The company recently ventured into the non-flagship territory with the launch of OnePlus Nord, which was then followed by Nord N10 5G and Nord N100.
Here, the N10 5G is the cheapest 5G phone in Nepal but that title means squat for now since we don’t have a viable 5G network now. With its integrated X51 5G modem, Nord N10 5G is the only 5G-capable phone on this list of best phones under NPR 40000 in Nepal as well.
While many people seem to have dismissed this silicon because of its 600-series heritage, you should know that the 690 5G is on par with the Snapdragon 730G and even 732G. Compared to these two with CA-76, it comes with newer Cortex-A77 cores but with a slightly slower clock speed. Anyway, this 8nm SoC has been paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. You can also expand the storage using a micro SD card.
Unwarranted betrayal
Moving on, the phone has a 6.49-inches IPS LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate which is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3. It runs on OxygenOS 10.5 (based on Android 10) out-of-the-box. However, with OnePlus confirming that the Nord N10 5G will only get a single system upgrade to Android 11, it feels like the company has actively betrayed its fanbase. Other specs of the phone include a quad-camera setup with a 64MP primary lens, a 4300mAh battery with Warp Charge 30T, etc.
OnePlus Nord N10 5G Specifications:
- Display: 6.49-inches 90Hz FHD+ IPS LCD, 406 PPI, Gorilla Glass 3
- Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 5G (8nm Mobile Platform)
- Memory: 6GB RAM, 128GB (expandable)
- Software & UI: Android 10 with OxygenOS 10.5 (upgradeable)
- Rear Camera: Quad (64MP main, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP depth, 2MP macro)
- Front Camera: 16MP sensor (punch-hole)
- Fingerprint sensor: Physical (rear-mounted)
- Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS / A-GPS / Glonass / Galileo / BDS, USB-C, 5G
- Sensors: Accelerometer, Proximity, Gyro, Compass
- Battery: 4300mAh battery with 30W Charging
- Price in Nepal: Rs. 39,499 (6/128GB)
4. Samsung Galaxy M51
Taking the number four spot in our list of best phones under NPR 40000 in Nepal goes to the Samsung Galaxy M51. The first staple of a solid smartphone—a good-looking display has always been a priority in Samsung devices and this one’s no exception either.
This 6.7″ Super AMOLED Plus screen has a minimal punch-hole cutout for the 32MP selfie shooter. And not just that, the Galaxy M51 comes with great cameras at the back as well. Featuring a 64MP primary lens, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and two 5MP depth and macro sensors, the phone offers great photography and videography possibilities too.
Snapdragon 730G
Here, the Galaxy M51 is powered by a competent Snapdragon 730G silicon, so you will get great performance off the phone as well. You can opt between 6 or 8GB of RAM but the latter exceeds the 40K price limit. On the storage front, it has a single 128GB option that you can expand using a micro SD card.
But the biggest talking point of the Galaxy M51 is most definitely its mammoth 7000mAh battery. Despite this, Samsung has somehow managed to design the phone to be slightly slimmer and lighter than the POCO X3 NFC. This 7000mAh battery supports 25W fast charging too. While Samsung’s own Galaxy M62 overshadows the M51, the phone recently received a price drop in Nepal, therefore still making it a decent option under 40K.
Samsung Galaxy M51 Specifications:
- Display: 6.7-inches 60Hz FHD+ Super AMOLED Plus, 393 PPI, Gorilla Glass 3
- Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G (8nm Mobile Platform)
- Memory: 6/8GB RAM, 128GB (expandable)
- Software & UI: Android 10 with One UI (upgradeable)
- Rear Camera: Quad (64MP main, 12MP ultrawide, 5MP depth, 5MP macro)
- Front Camera: 32MP sensor (punch-hole)
- Fingerprint sensor: Physical (side-mounted)
- Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / A-GPS / Glonass / BDS, USB-C
- Sensors: Accelerometer, Proximity, Gyro, Compass
- Battery: 7000mAh battery with 25W Charging
- Price in Nepal: Rs. 39,999 37,999 (6/128GB)

3. POCO X3 Pro
While phones under the 40K price bracket in Nepal have never really been a winner in the performance front, POCO has gloriously changed the game. Powered by the Snapdragon 860 chipset, the new POCO X3 Pro is easily the best performing phone in its class.
Therefore, if gaming is your top priority when choosing among the best phones under NPR 40000 in Nepal, we can’t recommend the X3 Pro enough.
Unrivaled gaming
The phone can push even the most graphics-intensive games like Genshin Impact and PUBG Mobile to their highest settings. Even so, we wouldn’t exactly recommend you do so because POCO X3 Pro will eventually struggle with keeping things cool under such settings. Having said that, with a slight tweak in settings, you’ll easily be able to play such games at a smooth 60 fps. Now, as you could tell, everyday usage is no issue for this beast either.
POCO X3 Pro also features a 120Hz refresh rate screen but unfortunately, it is prone to stutters every now and then. This was a problem on its predecessor too so we’re not sure how to feel about POCO’s indifference to the issue. Moving on, even though the 48MP quad-camera system shoots decent photos, it lags behind the likes of the Redmi Note 10 Pro which has a 108MP primary camera. Plus, X3 Pro’s relatively bulky might be a turn-off to many too.
POCO X3 Pro Specifications:
- Display: 6.67-inches 120Hz FHD+ IPS LCD, 396 PPI, Gorilla Glass 6
- Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 (7nm Mobile Platform)
- Memory: 6/8GB RAM, 128/256GB (expandable)
- Software & UI: Android 11 with MIUI 12 for POCO
- Rear Camera: Quad (48MP main, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP depth, 2MP macro)
- Front Camera: 20MP sensor (punch-hole)
- Fingerprint sensor: Physical (side-mounted)
- Connectivity: Hybrid Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / A-GPS / Glonass / Galileo / BDS, USB-C
- Sensors: Accelerometer, Proximity, Gyro, Compass
- Battery: 5160mAh battery with 33W Charging
- Price in Nepal: Rs. 31,999 (6/128GB) | Rs. 36,999 (8/256GB)

2. Redmi Note 10 Pro
Now, if you favor a good design, smooth AMOLED screen, better cameras, and an overall well-rounded phone, then the Redmi Note 10 Pro is for you. To note, Xiaomi Nepal has launched the global variant of the phone contrary to the Indian variant which has a 64MP primary instead of a bigger 108MP lens.
Compared to the POCO X3 Pro, this phone shoots relatively better photos while Xiaomi could still optimize things a bit.
The design of this year’s Redmi Note series sees an overhaul as well. Called “Evol.” design, we’re quite fond of how ergonomic Redmi Note 10 Pro is. Plus, its color options are refreshingly attractive too. Xiaomi has also upgraded to an AMOLED screen on this iteration. More importantly, it also boasts a 120Hz refresh rate. And unlike on the POCO X3 Pro, this screen keeps up with the high refresh rate just fine.
How’s the performance?
Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 732G, the Redmi Note 10 Pro delivers a swift usage experience. Obviously, it’s not as capable as the Snapdragon 860 on the X3 Pro but for regular everyday use, you won’t have any problem with this phone. Besides, the battery endurance from its big 5020mAh cell is quite impressive too. Additionally, the 33W charger that ships inside the box juices up the phone pretty fast. With all this, the Redmi Note 10 Pro is among the best well-balanced phones under NPR 40000 in Nepal right now.
Redmi Note 10 Pro (Max) Specifications:
- Display: 6.67-inches 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED, 396 PPI, Gorilla Glass 5
- Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G (8nm Mobile Platform)
- Memory: 6/8GB RAM, 64/128GB (expandable)
- Software & UI: Android 11 with MIUI 12
- Rear Camera: Quad (108MP main, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP depth, 5MP super macro)
- Front Camera: 16MP sensor (punch-hole)
- Fingerprint sensor: Physical (side-mounted)
- Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS / A-GPS / Glonass / Beidou, USB-C

1. Samsung Galaxy M62
Finally, sitting atop our list of best phones under NPR 40000 in Nepal is the Samsung Galaxy M62. Compared to the M51 above, the company has brought a big upgrade in the performance department. Here, Galaxy M62 is powered by Samsung’s the-then flagship chipset of 2019: Exynos 9825.
Based on an energy-efficient 7nm process, it delivers excellent performance (while still lagging behind the Snapdragon 860 in POCO X3 Pro).
Here, games like PUBG Mobile are smoothly playable at 60fps at the highest graphics settings. So, this phone brings a healthy combo of great gaming performance on top of handling everyday usage like a champ. Still, we’re a little hesitant on recommending this phone to gamers seeing how it lacks a high refresh rate screen. While the big 6.7″ Super AMOLED Plus screen is color-rich, a higher refresh rate would’ve made so much more difference. And like the POCO X3 Pro, its plastic body is quite bulky too.
Great cameras
Moving on, M62 is also the best phone in terms of camera and software support in this list. Its 64MP-led quad-camera array shoots better photos, videos than the Redmi Note 10 Pro. For a reliable smartphone experience in the long run, Samsung has also promised 4 years of security updates on this phone. Another highlight of Galaxy M62 is the colossal 7000mAh battery that will easily last you a couple of days, maybe even more.
Samsung Galaxy M62 Specifications:
- Display: 6.7-inches 60Hz FHD+ Super AMOLED Plus, 393 PPI
- Chipset: Exynos 9825 (7nm Mobile Platform)
- Memory: 6/8GB RAM, 128GB (expandable)
- Software & UI: Android 11 with MIUI 12
- Rear Camera: Quad (64MP main, 12MP ultrawide, 5MP depth, 5MP macro)
- Front Camera: 32MP sensor (punch-hole)
- Fingerprint sensor: Physical (side-mounted)
- Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / A-GPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou, USB-C
- Sensors: Accelerometer, Proximity, Gyro, Ambient Light, Geomagnetic
- Battery: 7000mAh battery with 25W Charging
- Price in Nepal: Rs. 39,999 (6/128GB) | Rs. 42,999 (8/128GB)
