Do you use an ATM? Keep these things in mind to prevent money theft

In today's digital era, banking and cash related work is now done online. Many people are going to digital medium because it is easy and convenient.

Our Nepali society is still not fully digitized. There is a need for cash at some point. At that time, you have to go to the place where there is an ATM.

Lately, there are not only cash withdrawal facilities but also withdrawal facilities from ATMs. But it is very limited.

When we need cash suddenly, we go to the ATM. At such a time, we should use the ATM card safely. Sometimes, if not used safely, an unpleasant incident may occur. Anyone can steal money.

Keeping this in mind, today we are giving you information about what to pay attention to while using an ATM card.

Do not allow others to use the ATM card

The first thing you should remember is that you should only use your ATM by yourself. Many times older or less educated people will seek the help of a bystander, but doing so can be like giving the crooks an opportunity to rob them.

If necessary, you can take the help of an ATM guard or take a family member with you. But the safest way is to not give the ATM card to anyone else as much as possible.

Check ATM security

Many times, ATMs are installed in places where the movement of people is less. In this situation, hackers and cloners tamper with ATMs. Cloning devices are connected to it so that money can be withdrawn by cloning the user's card.

In this case, you should check the ATM's keypad properly. Whether there is any mistake or there is no change.

Keep the PIN number of the ATM card hidden

When you go to an ATM to withdraw or deposit money, you have to enter the PIN number on the keypad of your card. In such a situation, remember whether you have someone else with you or not. If so, enter the ATM PIN secretly with the other hand.

Many times hackers steal the card pin by installing a camera and then empty your bank account through card cloning. Also, if someone else is standing with you, enter the ATM PIN while hiding it with your other hand.

Check if the light is on in the ATM machine

When you insert your card into an ATM machine, you will see a green or yellow light.

If this light is not on, you should avoid using the ATM. In such a situation, there may have been some tampering in the ATM.

Keep changing the ATM PIN

You should keep changing your ATM PIN from time to time. The bank also advises you about this.

Keeping the same pin number for a long time is not considered safe. So, keep changing the ATM PIN and do not create a PIN of any special pattern or same digits.

The PIN should be set in such a way that it has different digits and cannot be easily guessed by anyone.
