Due to the lack of electric charging stations, it has been found that electric buses of common transport are stuck.
Publishing the 60th report, the Office of the Auditor General has said that due to the lack of electric charging stations, even the purchased electric buses have not been put into operation.
The Auditor General’s Office has also suggested to build charging stations and operate the purchased electric buses.
According to the decision of the Council of Ministers on 26th January 2077, Sazah signed an agreement with a Chinese company for 50 million 383 thousand rupees for 40 electric buses, 20 chargers and 5 years of annual maintenance work, according to the agreement given to purchase electric buses from the investment made by the Government of Nepal.
According to the agreement signed with the company on 22nd October 2078, 3 buses are to be supplied in 120 days and the rest in 240 days. 3 buses were received on June 7, 2079 and Rs. 44.4 million 8000 has been paid along with 90% of the receipt amount and customs fees and default compensation is due for non-supply of buses as per the agreement. The General Accountant has said that he did not.
