Filed a writ petition in the Bombay High Court to declare ludo a game of luck, not a game of skill
A writ petition has been filed in the Bombay High Court of India on Thursday declaring Ludo a game of luck and not a game of skill. The writ was filed by Keshav Mule, an officer of Maharashtra Nav Nirman Sena. In his writ petition, it is said that people started playing a game called ‘Ludo Supreme App’ by putting money in it.
It is prohibited under sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Maharashtra Prevention of Gambling Act, 1887. Stating that ludo has started spreading as gambling for the same reason, they have demanded to punish the people associated with the ludo app and the management committee.
Playing on the app costs Rs 5 per person and the winner gets Rs 17. It is also attracting more users.
Earlier, when the boy reached the magistrate’s court, the court said it was a game of skill. He went to the high court after his FIR was not registered in the magistrate court. The case is set to be heard on June 22.
