From artists to leaders came to see Can Infotech, emphasizing that information technology should be kept as a national priority

Technology lovers have flocked to 'S Power Can Infotech 2024 in Association with HMC Dahua', which has been launched since January 25, at Bhrukutimond in the capital. The exhibition of the 29th edition has been observed by students and young age groups and people interested in technology, along with artists, athletes, engineers, politicians, policy makers and representatives of various levels of government until the end of the fourth day.

Since Sunday, federal government ministers, members of the House of Representatives, state government ministers and state parliamentarians, representatives of various commissions and policy-making level officials, heads/deputy heads of various municipalities have observed Infotech.

Under this, Minister of State for Education, Science and Technology Pramila Kumari, former minister and MP Prakashman Singh, MPs Sumana Shrestha, Virajbhakt Shrestha, Gyanendra Shahi, Ganesh Parajuli and others came to see the technologies kept at CAN Infotech.

Similarly, MP and first Chief Minister of Karnali Province Mahendra Bahadur Shahi, Spokesperson of Karnali Province Government and Minister of Internal Affairs and Law Krishna Bahadur Jisi, Minister of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment of Far West Province Ramesh Dhami, IT expert of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachand' Prakash Rayamazhi, former Deputy Prime Minister Prakash Man Singh, Public Service Commission Chairman Madhav Regmi, Maoist Youth Organization YCL Chairman Suvodharaj Shripali, Kathmandu Metropolitan City Urban Planning Commission Vice Chairman Dr. Suman Narsingh Rajbhandari, spokesperson of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Naveen Manandhar and others directly observed CAN Infotech.

Similarly, heads/deputy heads of various municipalities in the country, Nepal Institute of Science and Technology (NAST) and high-level officials of Nepal Telecom also viewed the exhibition on Sunday. On that occasion, they emphasized that programs like CAN Infotech will play an important role in building Digital Nepal and that the information and communication technology sector should be made a national priority. He also promised to take initiative on his part to bring effective programs to encourage Nepali talent and innovation.

Earlier, artists from Sanjok Koirala to legendary Rajesh Hamal and the captain of the national cricket team Rohit Paudel also visited Infotech.

In the 'S Power Can Infotech 2024 in Association with HMC Dahua', which will be conducted until Monday (January 29), world-class brands in the information technology sector, along with telecommunication and internet service providers, network and security service providers, fintech technology, e-commerce, IT training providers, development for various sectors The stalls related to software and management system, online learning tool, ride sharing app, etc. have shown special interest of the observers.

Even the stalls, which had less visitors on other days, were very crowded on Sunday. Observers are more interested in the latest technologies, applications and projects prepared by Nepali students, startups and innovators.

CAN general secretary Chiranjeevi Adhikari said that CAN is not just an infotech fair but an information technology exhibition. “The comment that it is called a fair should be changed. It is also an expo of innovative ideas and startups. Now infotech is a mine of software, products and solutions and ideas,” he said.

Under this, there has been attraction from the Nepali robot 'Kanchi' based on machine learning to the 'Kata Ho' platform that prepares digital addresses. Similarly, observers have also shown interest in the ride sharing service called 'Zoom Zoom' recently launched by FOne Soft Group. In the same way, many people are inclined towards the products of indigenous software manufacturers.

Similarly, as a special attraction of Infotech, there is an ICT-friendly bus prepared by the Nepal Institute of Science and Technology. According to NAST, more than 500 people have directly observed and experienced this bus.

Companies participating in Infotech, which has about 150 stalls, are giving attractive discounts and offers in addition to promoting their goods and services. Under this, the companies have provided discounts ranging from 10 to 70 percent on the purchase and booking of goods.

The stalls of the branding companies are inside the main hall, while the small companies are promoting their goods and services through the stalls on the truss. At the exhibition site, companies are also selecting dealers and doing business deals.

CAN Federation President Ranjit Podar said that through S Power CAN Infotech 2024 in association with HMC Dahua, it is possible to see, understand and discuss the latest technologies and practices in the global and local markets at one place. According to him, this time more people who understand information technology or curious observers have come than the unnecessary crowd.
