Government websites now have to be hosted in the government’s integrated data center. The government has made such arrangement by issuing guideline 2078 on website construction and management of government offices.

The Department of Information Technology will create a model of the website to maintain uniformity in the websites of government offices. The model should be used by all government offices when building their websites.

The directory stipulates that when creating a website, the user can use it easily, do not have to click more than three times to access the content, the expiration date of the content on the website should be set and after that date it should be self-archived or deleted.

Similarly, the content of the website should be available in HTML, Word and PDF formats as per the requirement, the content of the website should be easily printable, security risk should be tested, the content to be published on the website should be prepared in Nepali Unicode and preferably in English.

The guideline also states that the website should be responsive, government emails can be viewed, government offices themselves can update the information or details on the website, date and time should be shown in Nepali, SSL and TLS certificates should be used on the website, and persons with disabilities should have easy access. Has been done.

Similarly, after creating a website, the government office will have to take the source code, technical documentation, credentials, user manual from the website builder and ensure that they do not have access to such web data after the expiry of their service period as per the agreement.

The government office will have to arrange for the Department of Information Technology to test and secure its website at least once a year.

Necessary assistance can be obtained from the Department of Information Technology while constructing the website as per the guidelines of the government office. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology will monitor whether the website of the government office has been created.

With the issuance of this directive, the directive 2068 on website creation and management of government bodies has been repealed.
