How to make a USB drive bootable?

A bootable USB drive allows many operating systems to be loaded without being installed on a hard disk. It helps during virus infections and system maintenance. For this you need a Windows PC and a USB disk which should be between 1 to 8 GB.

It also requires Rufus, which can be easily downloaded from the Internet. First of all you have to launch the installed Rufus. Rufus should then list the pen drive in the device section. From there you should select your USB drive.

Then click on the Select button next to the boot selection. Then browse to where the ISO file is. Enter the volume label under the Format option. This will allow you to make sure the device is bootable.

This allows you to easily transfer files to another PC. Click the Start button to start the flash drive. After the process, the USB drive can be safely ejected by turning off the Rufus. The bootable disk works like Windows’s first aid kit.
