Interaction between CAN Federation and organizations in the field of information and communication technology

The Computer Association of Nepal Federation (CAN Federation) has conducted an interaction program with the organizations in the field of information and communication technology of Nepal on Friday the 22nd of this month.

Institutional, operational and policy cooperation between CAN and its related organizations for the development of information and communication technology sector in Nepal, problems and challenges for the development of this sector in Nepal in the coming days and policies and strategies for the development of information and communication technology sector in Nepal. The CAN Federation has organized an interaction program on the topics that can be suggested.

Speaking on the occasion, CAN Federation President Nawaraj Kunwar said that the current indicators for Nepal’s economic development could not be anything other than the development and use of information technology.

As the use of information technology is indispensable for the development of every sector, it is necessary to give priority to the development of information technology sector for economic prosperity, said Chairman Kunwar.

He also called on all ICT-affiliated organizations to join CAN as thematic members as it is the policy of CAN to move forward in collaboration with organizations working in the field of information technology.

At the program, Narayan Thapa, General Secretary of CAN Federation, spoke about the current status of CAN Federation’s initiatives for policy and legal reform as an umbrella organization of private and non-governmental organizations for the development and expansion of information and communication technology sector in Nepal.

Bikram Shrestha, President of Nepal Internet Foundation, thanked the CAN Federation for the interaction program and the initiatives being taken.

President of the Nepal Mobile Distributors Association Dinesh Chulyadyo recalled that his organization had cooperated with CAN Federation yesterday and suggested CAN Federation to organize such interaction programs from time to time.

E-Business Association President Sagar Dev Bhatt, Prime IT Club President Rujan Shrestha and General Secretary Srujay Shrestha, Nepal Mobile Distributors Association Member Ram Shrestha, Nepal E-Governance Society Vice President Dipendra Poudel, Startup Association Nepal Member Narayan Chhetri, National ICT Club President Netra Prasad Poudel, Member of Digital Marketing Association Nepal Niranjan Patel was present.

Similarly, Sanjay Basnet, President and Rajan Manandhar, President of CITVITY Technos Society Nepal, Deepak Thakur, Treasurer of Computer Faculty AssociationUp Nepal and Subash Shiv Pariyar, Central Member and Navin Adhikari, Surendra Giri, Technician of Nepal Data Center Society and Khusal Regmi, Vice President of CAN Federation spoke on the occasion. Secretary Chiranjeevi Adhikari, Co-Treasurer Chandra Prakash Bhurtel, Working Committee Member Subash Khadka and Deputy Manager Udip Baral were also present on the occasion.
