Soon after the iPhone 15 Pro, rumors about the non-Pro model have now started to surface online. Fresh new CAD-based renders of the iPhone 15 hint at a USB Type-C port and Dynamic Island for the first time in a non-Pro model. More about the iPhone 15 is in this article.

iPhone 15 Rumors:

Display

A blogging platform, 9to5Mac has shared the first renders of the upcoming iPhone 15 with a  pill-shape cutout. As per rumors, the device will have a larger 6.2-inch screen with a Dynamic Island notch. To reiterate, the iPhone 14 features a 6.1-inch XDR OLED display.

There are no adequate details about the display’s resolution and refresh rate. But, Apple is likely to retain the OLED panel with a standard 60Hz refresh motion, to maintain the gap with the Pro series.

Likewise, all the models of the iPhone 15 series are speculated to come with a Dynamic Island. If this comes true, it will finally be a farewell to that bathtub-looking notch, Apple has been favoring for a long time.

USB Type-C Port

Another change users might expect on the iPhone 15 lineup is a USB-C port. With the EU mandating a USB Type-C port in its region, Apple may finally forgo its lightning port. Also, the renders show a USB Type-C port on the bottom of the iPhone 15

However,  9to5Mac believes that things may change in the coming days. But because the 15 Pro renders also suggested a USB Type-C port, the vanilla variant will most likely include one.

A16 Bionic

Moreover, rumors suggest that the iPhone 15 will not get the upcoming A17 Bionic chipset. It will pack the current best A16 Bionic from the iPhone 14 Pro models instead. To remind you, Apple did the same move with the iPhone 14/Plus by shipping them with A15 Bionic.

iPhone 15 Launch (Expected)

There is no set date for the release of the iPhone 15. However, based on Apple’s past track record and as per rumors, the iPhone 15 will most likely be released alongside its siblings in mid-September 2023. We’ll keep adding new information as it becomes available.
