Mi 12, which may come with Snapdragon 898 SoC, Tipped to Integrate Newly Announced LPDDR5X RAM

Xiaomi’s next-generation flagship model, the Mi 12, is said to include the brand new LPDDR5X memory. JEDEC only announced the LPDDR5X configuration a few days ago, and the incoming Xiaomi Mi 12 is rumored to be one of the first smartphones to use it.

The phone is expected to be released before the end of the year, and it will most likely be powered by Qualcomm’s latest processor, which will be released later this year. The Mi 12 is also said to include a main sensor with a resolution of 200 megapixels.

Xiaomi’s Mi 12 could support the freshly launched LPDDR5X memory, according to Weibo user Ice World. The new RAM arrangement has a maximum data transmission rate of 6,400 Mbps to 8,533 Mbps, which is twice as fast as LPDDR4X. It also has TX/ RX equalization to improve signal stability, as well as new flexible refresh management to improve integrity.

According to MyDrivers, the Mi 12 could possibly be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 SoC, which is expected to support LPDDR5X. This contradicts previous reports that the Mi 12 would be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 895 SoC.

Qualcomm is said to be half a month ahead of schedule, which might result in the chipset being released in early December, whatever the marketing title of the next-gen chipset is. The Mi 12 is expected to be released shortly after, though availability may be delayed.

The Mi 11 was first unveiled in December of last year, and it was officially launched in February of this year.

Although we know very little about the Xiaomi Mi 12, prior reports claim that the phone will contain a 200-megapixel primary camera from Samsung and Olympus. This rumored 200-megapixel sensor is said to use 16-in-1 pixel binning to produce 12-megapixel images with large pixels.

The video camera component of the phone may also have an Olympus logo design. Furthermore, the Xiaomi Mi 12 is expected to feature a circular display screen with a single hole-punch intermediary for the selfie video camera.
