Yesterday, Xiaomi Nepal hosted a “Blogger’s Meet” after over a year and took to the stage to announce a bunch of new products. The main focus of the event was the Mi TVs. Xiaomi unveiled not one but four Mi TVs at the event. In this post, we will be taking a look at the specs, features, official price of the Mi TV 4X (65″), Mi TV 4A (32″, 40″), and Mi TV 4A Horizon Edition (43″) that were launched in Nepal.

Last year, Xiaomi launched the 55” Mi TV 4X in Nepal and now we have the bigger 65” variant too. The main properties of the panel remain the same at 3840 x 2160 pixels, 178° viewing angle, 60Hz refresh rate, and 9ms response rate. The cumulative 20W speaker output with support for Dolby Atmos and DTS Audio is also here.

However, the official listing of the 65” Mi TV 4X shows that it is powered by MediaTek A55 quad-core processor while the 55” variant was powered by Amlogic A53 quad-core processor. Here, you get 2GB of RAM and 16GB of eMMC storage.

The TV ships with Android TV 9.0. In terms of connectivity, you get dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, 3x HDMI Ports, a LAN port, and three USB ports.

Mi TV 4A 43 ”Horizon Edition

The next on the list is the Mi TV 4A 43” Horizon Edition. The “Horizon” here signifies the reduced bezels that this variant has over the standard Mi TV 4A. According to the company, its bezels are thinner than a power bank and offer a seamless experience, especially if you plan to wall-mount it.

Other than that, the rest of the specs are pretty much similar to the regular Mi TV 4A. You get a quad-core Amlogic process with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It supports Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, three HDMI ports, and two USB ports. You also get 20W audio output with DTS Audio. The TV ships with Android 9.0.

Mi TV 4A 40” and 32”

Mi TV 4A is the entry-level TV from Xioami. It is available in two screen sizes – 40” and 32”. While the 32” screen size is in much demand these days, the 40-inch screen size has sort-of lost its charm over the years. And with the new Mi TV 4A 40”, Xiaomi Nepal wants to make it a popular category again.

In terms of specs, the Mi TV 4A is similar to the Mi TV Horizon Edition discussed above. You get an FHD display on the 40” and an HD display on the 32”. Both are powered by Amlogic quad-core processor and come with 1GB RAM and 8GB memory. You get Android 9.0 out-of-the-box. The audio output is the same and the similar is the case with connectivity.

Xiaomi Nepal has assured that these TVs will receive software update as soon as it is tested successfully and released in the global market. The company also shed light on its decision to hike the price of its TV last year. In Xiaomi’s defense, the price of the “display-chip” has spiked by up to 100% in the global market hence the need for the price adjustment.

Furthermore, it has assured that the company will continue to remain competitive and honest with its pricing. Xiaomi in Nepal has adopted a “One Price Policy” for its TV under which the price of its TVs remains the same irrespective of the platform consumers are buying it from. Also, the company has vowed to be more transparent about the display panel used in the TVs.

What’s next for Xiaomi Nepal

In the event, Xiaomi also shared its plan to launch more ecosystem products in Nepal. The company has set a target of 20+ new releases in all of 2021. Some of them are set to launch within next month. However, we don’t have any hint about what they might be.

Sourabh Kothari, the Country General Manager, seemed positive about launching Mi Notebook laptops in Nepal. However, for such launches, Xiaomi needs to carry out an extensive market study which takes time.
