The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology has instructed Nepal Telecommunication Authority to stop the implementation of Mobile Device Management System (MDMS).
Last Tuesday, the ministry sent a letter to the authority to stop the implementation of the program through a ministerial decision.
Some time ago, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology formed a four-member investigation committee under the leadership of Gauri Gari, the joint secretary of the ministry.
After the investigation report showed irregularities in the MDMS procurement process, the Ministry of Communications has instructed not to proceed with further work related to MDMS, not to spend the budget and to pay old payments.
The Ministry's letter said that after the implementation of the suggestions given in the investigation report, only with the consent of the Ministry, further work should be carried out.
