Mobile Device Management System (MDMS) has been implemented in Nepal from Thursday, 15 September, 2022.

Nepal Telecom Authority has brought Mobile Device Management System (MDMS) into operation today. NTA has issued a notice stating that MDMS has been implemented.

According to the NTA, the mobile device management system has been implemented by the Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) as it is mandatory to get the type approval from the authority and register the IMEI number before importing the mobile sets.

Mobile Device Management System (MDMS) has been implemented in Nepal from Thursday, 15 September, 2022.

At present, in the first phase, when an importer imports a mobile phone, IMEI registration will be done through the mobile device management system.

In addition, the Telecommunication Authority has stated that the import and use of mobiles will be made more systematic, reliable, and secure by implementing this system in full.
