Nanakala Thapa becomes new communications minister

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has appointed Nanakala Thapa as the Minister of Communications and Information Technology.

Appointing additional ministers to the vacant ministry in the reconstituted cabinet, Oli has appointed Thapa to the ministry of communications and information technology.

Thapa is not well known in politics. She is the wife of former Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa.

After Ram Bahadur Thapa left the Home Ministry due to the decision of the Supreme Court, Nanakala was handed over to the Ministry of Communications from the former Maoist quota. Earlier, she was not in the women’s commission.
