Nepali citizens can now get Indian SIM card based on passport, citizenship

Nepali citizens will now get Indian SIM cards. Nepali Ambassador to India Dr. Shankar Prasad Sharma gave this information through social media.

According to Sharma, Nepalese citizens in India can get an Indian SIM card based on their passport, citizenship, voter ID card or identity card issued by the embassy.

Earlier, India had refused to issue SIM cards to Nepali citizens citing technical reasons. But at the request of the embassy, ​​the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Communications are ready to give SIM cards to Nepalis in India.

Earlier, Nepalis were suffering from not getting a SIM card while traveling or working in India. Now that suffering is going to end.

Great news! Nepali nationals can now obtain a SIM card on the basis of their passport, Citizenship Certificate, voter’s ID, or ID issued by the Embassy. Citizens of🇳🇵were denied a SIM card earlier due to technical reasons.
