New record in mobile business, imports increase by 103 percent to Rs 37 billion

Kathmandu. Last year, the country went through a corona infection. During this time many lost their jobs and many businesses closed down. The decline in the country’s economic growth had a negative impact on the economy.

However, there have been some positive indicators in the field of information technology this year. As digital payments have increased and so has literacy.

One such example is the country’s mobile business. In the last one year of the last fiscal year, Kuluk’s mobile business has become rich. That year, 37 billion mobiles have entered the country, setting a new record in the mobile business.

According to the data of the last fiscal year 2077/78 made public by the customs department on Friday, mobile handsets worth Rs 36.90 billion have been imported.

This is by far the largest mobile business in the country. Compared to the previous year, mobile imports have increased by 103 percent this year.

Last year, mobile phones worth Rs 18.17 billion were imported in the country.
