HMD Global is taking a big stand for sustainability with its IFA 2022 announcements. With phones built with recycled materials and a Circular subscription service, the new Nokia X30 5G and G60 5G are made with sustainability in mind. Design & Display
Nokia has focused on sustainability big time on this one. The metal frame on the Nokia X30 5G is made out of completely recycled aluminum and the plastic back is 65% recycled material too. Likewise, the box is 94% recycled paper and all of this is FSC-certified.
In terms of display, you get a 6.43″ AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. The panel has FHD+ resolution and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The peak brightness is 700 nits and the typical one is 450 nits.
Performance
Powering the Nokia X30 5G is a Snapdragon 695. While not the meatiest chip in the market, it gets the job done. The phone is available in two memory variants: 6/128GB and 8/256GB. HMD has also promised 3 years of security patches and OS updates. Not only that but under the “3-3-3 promise” X30 5G owners also enjoy 3 years of warranty.

Cameras
The primary camera on the Nokia X30 5G is a 50MP sensor with 4-in-1 pixel binning and OIS. Similarly, the supporting camera is a 13MP ultrawide with 123-degree FoV. And, Gorilla Glass DX+ protects the rear camera module. Over on the front hole punch, Nokia has fitted a 16MP sensor with 4-in-1 pixel binning.

The battery in the Nokia X30 5G is a 4,200mAh cell with 33W fast charging. According to Nokia, the battery will hold most of its capacity even after 800 cycles. Next up, it has an in-display fingerprint scanner and face unlock for security.
As the name suggests, the phone supports 5G connectivity. It also offers Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and even an IR blaster. Continuing with the sustainability theme, the Nokia X30 5G has IP67 dust and water resistance for longevity.
