Now the internet can be used in Nepali sky, two companies got permission

Now, passengers of foreign airlines flying in Nepali skies will be able to use the internet.

The facility has been started after the Nepal Telecommunication Authority gave approval to two companies to use internet in Nepali sky. According to the authority, a company called Sita for Aircraft Thales has received approval to use the internet service.

“So far, Sita for Aircraft and Thales have been approved to use the Internet,” said Amber Sthapit, director of ICT News.

Now these companies will provide internet service to foreign air passengers above ten thousand feet. NEA approves to operate internet service using frequencies within Nepal.

NEA has introduced a policy to allow foreign airlines to use the internet above 10,000 feet. Apart from the two approved companies, no one has applied, the establishment said.

Such companies wishing to provide internet service to their passengers should apply to the authority for approval. Airlines that want to provide internet service to their passengers have entered into an agreement with an internet service provider. According to the agreement between them, internet service will be available.

“The aviation company has agreed to provide internet on board,” the founder said, “so they will apply for permission.”

The service will be available only to foreign airlines, he said.
