Now two factor authentication can be set up on Google account without phone number

Kathmandu. Now two factor authentication (2FA) can be set up on Google account without phone number. Previously, users had to use a phone number to enable TuFA. With the new update, now Google will also enable the 'second step method' for Tufa.

In this you can choose authenticator app or hardware security key. Tufa is said to be more secure as there is no SMS verification. According to Google's blog post on the Workspace update, it will change the way TuFA is implemented.

Google has already started sending this change to workspace and personal accounts. Google said that this change can be seen in all Google accounts in the next few days.
