Poco M3 Pro 5G Rumors, Leaks, Specs, Availability

After the success of X3 Pro, Poco is prepping to launch a Pro model of yet another popular mid-range device. The upcoming Poco M3 Pro 5G has been a topic of speculation for the past few months and it is finally launching next week. In this post, we will be discussing all the rumors and leaks surrounding the Poco M3 Pro 5G.

Poco M3 Pro 5G Rumors Roundup:

Design

Popular Indian leakster, Ishan Agarwal has leaked the first renders of the Poco M3 Pro 5G via his Twitter handle. The front of the device is exactly what you would expect from a 2021 mid-range phone. The display has a center-aligned punch-hole cutout while a fingerprint scanner is integrated onto the power button on the right of the device.

The back, on the other hand, has a lot going on. It has a rectangular camera module with rounded corners on the top left. There is a black envelope enclosing a Poco branding with it. The entire rear panel has a shiny finish with shiny rays emerging from the envelope and falling on it. You can also see the 5G branding on the bottom left.

Specifications

Poco M3 Pro 5G will be powered by a MediaTek processor. Poco executives, Kevin Xiaobo Qiu and Angus Ng had already confirmed that there will a MediaTek Dimensity SoC under the hood. They did not pinpoint the SKU but said it will perform better than the Snapdragon 662 on the standard Poco M3.

Since then, the company has confirmed via its social media handles that Poco M3 Pro will use Dimensity 700 chipset. In the company’s internal testing, Poco M3 Pro was able to score 329,072 on AnTuTu.

The phone will also have a high refresh rate screen. It is another first in the M-series besides 5G connectivity. Similarly, Poco M3 Pro will have more RAM and faster storage out-of-the-box compared to the vanilla model.

Early rumors suggested that Poco M3 Pro will be based on Redmi Note 10 5G. If it turns out to be true, it will feature a 6.5-inch 90Hz LCD panel. Similarly, there will be a triple camera setup including a 48MP primary camera. Additionally, the whole setup will be fueled by a 5,000mAh battery.

Market strategy

The company plans to suspend the sales of Poco X3 after the launch of the M3 Pro. So, users will have to choose between Poco X3 Pro and M3 Pro if they want to buy a mid-range phone from this Xiaomi spin-off. The ones looking for greater performance will have to pick the former since the M3 Pro is targeted to users looking for 5G connectivity on budget.

Also, the brand has cleared that a “super flagship” is not a priority. Thus, Poco won’t be going against the best from Xiaomi, Samsung, and Apple anytime soon.

Differentiating Poco from Xiaomi

Right now, Poco is still reliant on Xiaomi for R&D, manufacturing, and after-sales service. But the company is working on its own design language as we saw with the X3, X3 Pro, M3, and the upcoming M3 Pro.

Poco is even trying to differentiate itself on the software front by working on a new interface exclusive to Poco users. It will still be based on MIUI’s code but will have added features for Poco phones. The brand is currently taking feedback from the Poco Community app.

Poco M3 Pro 5G Official Launch Date

Poco M3 Pro 5G will launch globally on March 19. Its price will be closer to what Poco X3 is going for right now.
