Realme GT Neo 2 Rumors, Leaks, Specs, Expected Launch Date

Back in April, Realme launched the second device under the GT lineup – GT Neo. Less than six months on, it has been confirmed that the company is working on its successor. Here, we will be looking at all the leaks and rumors surrounding the specs and launch date of the upcoming Realme GT Neo 2.

Realme GT Neo 2 Rumors Roundup:

The news of Realme working on the successor of the GT Neo has already been confirmed by the VP of Realme China in one of his Weibo posts. However, the company has been tight-lipped about the specs and features of the phone.

Fortunately for us, OnLeaks has collaborated with Digit India to give us the first glimpse of GT Neo 2. Keep in mind, this leak is based on a pre-production unit. Realme can still make changes before it starts mass production of the phone.

Design and Display

To start with, Realme GT Neo 2 will feature a 6.62-inch AMOLED panel with a left-aligned punch-hole for the 16MP selfie camera. It will retain the 120Hz refresh rate from the original GT Neo. Realme will also be including an optical fingerprint scanner underneath the screen.

Over on the back, the black finish reminds me of the Gloss Black variant of the Oppo Find X3 Pro. However, all we get is a standard rectangular camera module and not the Gradient Arc design.

Performance and Memory

Moving on, the phone will pack Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset under the hood. It’s a slightly overclocked version of last year’s Snapdragon 865+. It will be paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. But we can expect other memory configurations as well.

Camera

As it stands, we might not see any changes to the camera setup. GT Neo 2 could inherit the same 64MP triple camera setup with 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro sensors from the GT Neo.

Rest of the Specs

The battery department is getting an upgrade, too. GT Neo 2 will feature a 5,000mAh battery, a decent upgrade from the 4,500 on its predecessor. The phone will boot on Realme 2.0 based on Android 11. Also, The leaked renders of the phone do not show any sign of a headphone jack.

Realme has not given any timeline for the launch of Realme GT Neo 2. But, given the official launch, it should hit the market towards the end of 2021.
