Samsung is releasing its next flagship smartwatch lineup called Galaxy Watch 6 series. The smartwatch duo will be powered by a new in-house chipset called Exynos W930. The new chipset was recently spotted at a certification listing along with its model number. So, let’s get into everything about the Samsung Exynos W930 we know so far.

Samsung Exynos W930 Rumor Roundup:

Recently, the Exynos W930 chipset was certified by Bluetooth SIG and is expected to power the Galaxy Watch 6 series. Interestingly, the W930 chipset has the same model number (S5E5515) as the W920 that powered the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5. This probably means that the W930 will have the same base hardware with Samsung using overclocking and binned features to differentiate the new chip.

The Exynos W930 supports Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi, and it will be built on a 5nm process, similar to the W920. However, for wireless communication, the new chipset only works with the support of RF chipset.

Previously, there were rumors about a W980 chipset, but it looks like the W930 will be the final chip for the upcoming smartwatch. However, we can expect that the high-end Soc is still in development with the Samsung Exynos W930 chipset. Another speculation is that the W980 might power a premium version of the smartwatch called the Galaxy Watch 6 Pro.

Galaxy Watch 6 Series Rumors:

The Galaxy Watch 6 lineup will include two models: the Galaxy Watch 6 and the Galaxy Watch 6 Pro.

As per the leak, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic features a circular display with a bit of a thick bezel. The design was also spotted in FCC certification. Other details from the certification include a larger battery for the Galaxy Watch 6, with a 300mAh battery for the 40mm variant and a 425mAh battery for the 44mm variant. The Galaxy Watch 6 wired fast charging and 10W wireless charging.

The Galaxy Watch 6 Classic will have a 1.47-inch display with a resolution of 470 x 470 pixels, along with a physical rotating bezel. Multiple strap options will be available for customization.

Expected Launch Date

However, there is not any official confirmation about any details of the Galaxy Watch 6 series from Samsung. But we expect the launch to take place alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5, in late July. To be more specific, Samsung plans to unveil the Galaxy Watch 6 series on July 26, featuring OneUI 5 Watch, which is based on Wear OS 4. An exciting feature making a comeback is the rotating bezel, which was popular among users in previous models.
