Service providers are not allowed to collect personal details of children under 13 years of age

No service provider is allowed to collect personal details of children under 13 years of age. Such provision has been made in the draft of Online Child Protection Procedure 2078 prepared by the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens.

Provision has been made in the draft that no service provider can collect personal details of children below 13 years of age while providing their services.

Similarly, in the case of children between the ages of 13 and 18, the consent of the parents must be obtained while collecting any personal details. Provision has been made in the draft to limit the online transactions of children.

Any payment service provider must establish a payment system only after confirming the payment of any customer and confirming that the user is an adult.
