Students could not apply for the post of IT officer because the BCA of the university was placed in the Faculty of Humanities

When Tribhuvan University’s Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) course is placed under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, students are not able to apply for the post of Government Information Technology Officer.

Because the BCA course was placed under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences by the University, those who studied it were not able to apply for the Assistant Director III (Information Technology) advertisement opened by Nepal Rastra Bank and Krishi Bikas Bank.

Recently, a student who has studied BCA in the university complained on social media that when he applied for the post of Assistant Director of Information Technology of Nepal Rastra Bank, he could not apply because the BCA course of the university was under the faculty of humanities.

Students who have studied BCA from Pokhara and Purvanchal University, apart from Terti University, are allowed to apply. According to the students, they are not allowed to apply for any post of official level including Rashtra Bank, Agricultural Development Bank, Information Officer of Nepal Police, Information Officer of Nepal Army, Information Officer of Nepal Telecom, etc. In all the mentioned service areas, the qualification is to have studied the subject under the Faculty of Science and Technology or to be registered with the Engineering Council.

Due to this, the future of thousands of students who have studied and are studying BCA is in doubt. If the government body does not recognize the BCA of the university, then why study it? The question has also been raised.
