Team Zenon Claims First Place in MBM Idea X 2023 Hackathon

Madan Bhandari Memorial College has successfully completed the MBM Idea X 2023 Hackathon. In this hackathon, the main theme was to protect and promote indigenous and indigenous languages ​​using information and technology.

The purpose of this program was to engage a large group of programmers to develop programming tools for the preservation and promotion of Nepalese indigenous languages. The program was supported by UNESCO and Prabhu Bank.

450 participants from more than 48 national and international teams expressed their willingness to participate in the program. Among them, the selection committee selected a total of 13 teams (48 participants) from different cities and invited them for the final round of selection.

From 6 to 8 October 2023, in the college campus, all the teams were coding day and night to finalize their software products. In the product display at “Tamu Buddh Seva Samiti Hall, Anamnagar”, all the teams exhibited their products before the jury for evaluation and awards.

Campus Head of Madan Bhandari Memorial College Ramesh Chandra Paudel delivered a speech in the program. Chairman of the program and former Ambassador to China, Mahendra Pandey expressed the importance of Hackathon and thanked all the participants. Pandey also stated that every language reflects a different culture and each one has its own importance.

In this hackathon, Poolchok campus’ Tic Zenon: Zeno Lingo Group won the first place and won 25 thousand rupees. Similarly, Team Lippi of Mechi Multipurpose Campus managed to win the second place and 15,000 cash prize.

Poolchok Campsair Team The Misfits: Native Tunes was in third place and received 10,000 rupees. Similarly, team Kin Coders came in the fourth place. The organizers distributed certificates to all the participants including the winning team.

Chiranjeevi Adhikari, General Secretary of CAN Federation, said that MBM IdeaX 2023 is a platform to connect technology and local language of Nepal for the promotion of indigenous languages.
