Tecno to launch Phantom X2 Series with Dimensity 9000

Tecno Phantom X2 Series Launch

Tecno is about to introduce new smartphones under its premium Phantom sub-brand. Called the Phantom X2 Series, it will succeed the Phantom X from last year and will bring a significant upgrade in terms of processor and cameras. So, let’s take a look at what the Tecno Phantom X2 Series has to offer.

Tecno Phantom X2 Series Overview:

To begin, the Phantom sub-brand is all about offering premium smartphones with the best possible components at a reasonable price. And the new Phantom X2 Series is a significant step forward for the company.

Performance

It’s because of the performance boost it will offer over its predecessor. To reiterate, the original Phantom X was equipped with a mid-range Helio G95 processor.

But the Phantom X2 Series will be a flagship, as it will include MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 mobile silicon. Tecno has also officially confirmed this processor selection via a teaser post.

Based on TSMC’s 4nm SoC, the SoC has a high-performance Cortex-X2 (3.05 GHz) core, three Cortex-A710 (2.85 GHz) performance cores, and four Cortex-A510 (1.8 GHz) efficiency cores.

Sure, Tecno could have gone with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Dimensity 9200 SoC. But the Dimensity 9000 is a significant improvement over the Helio G95 and a capable chip in its own right.

Cameras

Tecno is also striving to enhance the cameras on its premium phones. And the upcoming X2 Series builds on just that with the superior processing power of the Imagiq 790 ISP.

It will be the first smartphone in its family to support HDR video from three cameras at the same time. The Super-night mode algorithm is also better optimized to deliver brighter photos with reduced noise

Furthermore, the Phantom X2 Series could be the first smartphone to include the company’s latest camera innovation, the “Eagle Eye Lens.” It is a dual prism tele-camera that can track an object automatically. It is also said to offer better stabilization than standard OIS found on today’s smartphones.

Tecno Phantom X2 Series Launch

Tecno will officially announce the Phantom X2 series on December 7. But for the time being, we don’t know how many phones will be part of the X2 family. We’ll update the article as soon as Tecno reveals more details about the upcoming smartphones.
