The accountant general said that the expected progress could not be made as Nast spent less on research work

The Office of the Auditor General has stated that the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) has not made the expected progress in the field of science and technology as it has spent more on administrative work and less on programs and research.

In the 58th report of the Auditor General, it has been mentioned that the establishment has not been able to make the expected progress in the field of science and technology by spending more on administrative work and less on programs and research work.

Out of the total expenditure of the institute, salary, allowance, salary and administrative and other expenses were 69.11 percent in 2074/75, 76.62 percent in 2075/76 and 71.16 percent in 2076/77. 89 percent, 23.38 percent and 28.84 percent.

Bikram Sambat was established in 2039 BS to create a conducive environment for the development, research and promotion of science and technology in Nepal. Nast currently has 104 employees.
