The technology to prevent illegal mobile operation will be officially implemented from 30th of August

The Mobile Device Management System (MDMS) will be formally implemented from the 30th of August.

This information was given in the joint workshop of Mobile Device Management System (MDMS) organized by Nepal Telecommunication Authority and Mobile Phone Imports Association at Solti Hotel in Kathmandu.

In the program, Chairman of Nepal Telecommunication Authority Purushottam Khanal promised to implement MDMS system from 30th of August.

MDMS system is a high technology to control the unauthorized entry of mobile phones into Nepal. Mobile phones that entered Nepal illegally after August 30 will not work.

Baikunth Aryal, Secretary of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, who was present as the chief guest in the program, emphasized that MDMS should be implemented as soon as possible in cooperation with all the relevant stakeholders within the rules and laws of the country.

In the same program, Vice President of Mobile Phone Importers Association Sanjay Agarwal said that MDMS will be formally launched from August 30 and it will be fully implemented in two to three months. He said that the period of registration of old phones will be provided during that two-three months.
