The Twitter account of the President’s Office was privatized by the outgoing President Bhandari

The Twitter account of the President’s Office has been made private by the outgoing President Bidya Devi Bhandari. While she was the President, Bidya Devi Bhandari has privatized the Twitter account of the President’s office with 25,000 followers.

Sheelat left the residence after completing her term last Monday. The verified Twitter handle of the President’s Office, @presidentofNP, has been changed to @BidyaDBhandari after Shital left the residence.

When the handle is modified, the blue tick indicating that it has been verified has also been removed. Ramchandra Poudel was sworn in as the new president on Monday after Bhandari completed his term as president.

There is an international practice of handing over the social media details used by the relevant office while holding a high government position to the respective heirs after being released from office, as it is also national property. But this has not happened in Nepal.
