We are in a place of digital revolution, which can bring transformation, not change

I have also contributed to the development of Digital Nepal Framework. Listening to me, I thought that we should start with the participation of the youth. This should be done while designing the program.

I feel like a lot of things came from that too. It has captured a lot of things. The framework is comprehensive.

Being around IT and digital, they have a way of saying no, the way the story is made is really admirable.

When I started my career, there was no information technology, especially computer science. Then it was called IT and ICT. Now we have started saying digital. Technology has moved forward to touch all dimensions.

Even IT and ICT could not complete its essence. New technologies, including the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence, are emerging.

We never talked about data analysis, evidence, etc. in our conversation. When we talked about IT, we talked about automation, data was always missing from that equation.

Now there are powerful analytical tools, cloud computing tools. We are in a place of digital revolution, which can bring transformation, not change.

That ambition became the goal rather than the transformation. How to get there was the presentation, the essay, the narration. I felt that it captured more essence.

There you were looking at how technology touches our daily lives. Yes, change is possible only when it touches our diaries. There is room for excitement over digital and ICT but the downsides are visible. Addiction to devices and platforms is also on the rise.

The kind of dream that was seen in it. The kind of benefit that we get from that, it may or may not happen. Therefore, there is a need to moderate consumption as well.

I also contributed a lot in policy making. We know exactly where to go, but we always have problems with implementation. This framework is very ambitious. Don’t take it down. Thinking is not going to happen.

In this, it is important to know what kind of implementation modality we will go from the beginning. If the framework is the only agenda of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, we will not be able to move forward. This is an inclusive agenda for all. Its nature is the same. It does not move forward without doing so.

The government will create a comfortable working environment. There we have laid the foundation for activities. If you look at the surrounding countries, especially Singapore and India.

If you look at Singapore and India, the government is not talking much right now. Check out their Digital India framework or the Singapore Technology Stack. They are doing 5-6 main things. They have created an ecosystem to grow IT.

I am also working on the concept of digital province in province number one. We are working on a framework to make that happen. I also went to Gandaki first.

What I see is that there is intention but there is no capacity within it, there is no other within it. What the federal government can’t do, is how local levels can effectively go on a journey to digital Nepal.

The Digital Foundation also seeks to point that out. And there are other activities as well. This is what we call the living process. We were initially hesitant about what to call the framework. Later we said framework.

This is a living process. When it comes to technology, so many changes are taking place, so many possibilities are opening the door. It is not possible, in one city, in two cities, in three months, in five months, how much technology will take off and it is difficult for us to immediately estimate the dimensions of our lives, politics and economy.

We should have made digital education compulsory in the beginning. That is now brought by the epidemic. There could be a fundamental transformation in digital education. It’s not just a matter of taking a virtual class.

Never before in history has there been such a level of access to the resources of knowledge. Digital is also a tool of knowledge. How many use the Kindle? If you are confused about any word in it, you can watch Disney.

In the beginning, if we had involved the youth, there would have been more implementation. And I think the next generation could relate to growing up. No need to worry. The framework is comprehensive. Is a living document. We can talk a lot about that.
