Nepal has imported mobile phones worth Rs 23.85 million from Hong Kong, Rs 211.67 million from Australia, Rs 188.7 million from Qatar and Rs 6.75 million from the United Kingdom.

Last year, Nepal imported the most mobiles from China, followed by India. Mobile phones worth Rs 22.83 billion have been imported from China while mobiles worth Rs 12.49 billion have been imported from India.

Last fiscal year, 37 billion mobile phones were imported in the country. As per the statistics of the Fiscal Year 2077/78, mobile handsets worth Rs. 36.90 billion have been imported.

This is by far the largest mobile business in the country. Compared to the previous year, mobile imports have increased by 103 percent this year. Last year, mobile phones worth Rs 18.17 billion were imported in the country.
