What to do if you don’t see desktop icons in Windows Ten?

Many users use the desktop a lot to use the shortcuts of applications. Missing such desktop icons can slow down your work. Even if the user configures the desktop by mistake, the desktop icons may be missing.

Similarly, the apps may not be seen due to tablet mode or caching problems. This problem may be due to a corrupt file. The following procedure can be used in case of such problem.

Troubleshooting a missing desktop icon:

First of all, to solve the problem, you have to start with very basic measures. Restarting most of the time also solves many problems. That’s why it is better for users to try this solution first.

Another way is to enable Windows Ten desktop visibility. Sometimes the icons may not be visible due to configuration or it may be due to other installed software.

If this seems to be the case, right-click anywhere in Windows and go to the menu and press the View option. When you look down, you will find an option called Show desktop icon and then an unseen icon may appear.

Icons can reappear when you disable Windows Ten’s tablet mode. To do this, click on the Action Center icon at the bottom left of the screen and click on Tablet mode.

Icons may not be visible due to the recent Windows Ten update. If so, users will need to use the latest release for Windows 10.

The system file checker utility has to be used as the icon may not be visible due to system file corruption. It can detect corrupt system files by scanning them. Factory resetting the PC can also solve the problem.
