Dhan dance is the prominent dance of Rai and Limbu communities. It is performed during work in fields and while going fair. It is dance in Palam Song. In Dhan dance, the youngsters dance by catching each others hand. It is performed whole day and night. The girls and boys exert influence to one another. Sometimes, the youngsters get married too. Besides Kiratas, the young generation of other community have also exhibited their interest in Dhan Dance. Earlier Dhan Dance was entirely performed in eastern part of country. Now, it is done in various parts of the country including in Kathmandu valley. Interestingly, the Kirat community living in other countries also performs Dhan dance in various especial occasions.
