“Around the World” – Global Culture Awareness Program @ CMRIT, Bangalore
The Information Science & Engineering department of CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT ISE) had organized a unique event named “Around the World” to raise awareness regarding “Global Culture” among students. It was a fun and educational event with a lot of interaction between students with different cultural backgrounds. IS department had invited experts from industry to share their interesting anecdotes and give tips. I also took part as an international student sharing my multi-cultural experiences and the stereotypes too.

Objectives
Gaining knowledge about different countries in an interactive and fun way.
Discussion with Professionals on how industries work in different parts of the world.

Target Audience:
International students interested in showcasing or witnessing cultures of different countries and understanding cultural aspects of the global career.
Local students can also represent their states or just come down to witness performances by others.
Cultural Demonstration
The performance showcasing cultures of countries that the students represent including music from their countries.
Talks on challenging stereotypes of countries.
Sharing basic words, sentences, and common proverbs.
Miscellaneous activities
Panel Discussion
Professionals who have worked in different countries will come down to explain the work culture and ethics in those countries.
