“Then why not bring it to Nepal as well?” He thought. “It would be wonderful to bring this world-class education system to Nepal.”

He proposed at the Cambridge School in Singapore: ‘We design the course at our own expense. We had to provide this platform without paying royalties or for a very low fee. ‘

He also proposed to make it available free of cost in community schools in Nepal.

He also proposed that its ‘operation center’ should be in Nepal.

Cambridge School looked at the past of the ING Group. He has worked in the field of education for 20 years. There were IT colleges and skilled manpower to work. “After seeing this, Cambridge School in Singapore has decided to give it to Nepal,” he says.

As he thought, he would get the world famous ‘Digital Learning Platform’ which is also suitable for Nepal.

It has been a month since ‘My Second Teacher’ was officially launched in Nepal, which has been implemented in 18 countries of the world and is reaching 50 countries this year.

This is a very short time for this project which started with a long vision.

But in the meantime, Sulabh is very excited about the response he has received from ‘My Second Teacher’.

Students, teachers, and parents have shown great interest. The government is also closely monitoring the project.
“There has been a very good response from students, teachers, parents and educational institutions,” Sulabh told ICT News. “It is an inspiration that can be implemented successfully.”

The number of customers in a month has also made him optimistic. The number of students who become customers of My Second Teacher in one month has reached around 20,000.

He considers it a great success. Currently, only 4 subjects of class 10 are available on this platform.
Her team went to community schools for pilot testing. Discussions were held in five schools of Sunwal Municipality of Nawalparasi before the lockdown.

“There’s been a great response from students and teachers,” says Sulabh. “Students and teachers seem to be excited if they have a good course.”

Nepal’s course is designed by Sulabh’s team. Educational materials are being designed according to the curriculum of the Curriculum Development Center (CDC).

In other words, the course is designed for students in Nepal, said Sulabh. After six months of preparation, it was made public in Nepal on April 20.

The language used in it is also colloquial. The course is designed by mixing both English and Nepali language so that all the students can understand.

At present, only four subjects of English, Mathematics, Science and Economics have been designed for class ten, but all the courses of class 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12 are being prepared till next year.

A company from Singapore, Acer and My Second Teacher Nepal are studying to make a display unit that can run on the internet without internet or very low speed. This model is being prepared in the summer.

After that, it can be taught in schools in rural areas through the projector or TV of the display unit.

How much does it cost?

Sulabh says that the customer fee has been made cheaper so that everyone can use it along with easy availability for the students.

This course is very expensive at Cambridge School, Singapore. One subject costs a hundred dollars, says Sulabh.

“It would not have been possible if we had tried to offer a Nepali course by bringing a franchise from the business model,” he says.

He said that it was possible to have a cheap day in Nepal as there was an agreement to implement this course in Nepal without royalty and even if it was agreed, it would be very low.

At present there are four subjects available in English, Mathematics, Science and Economics. These issues have been fixed at Rs 1,870 in a three-month package. In Singapore, he said, he was charged डलर 400 for nine months for the same four subjects.
The fee has now been initially tested and they plan to review it.

“Tomorrow this price may not be paid by the students studying in government or community schools,” says Sulabh. “We are bringing a separate package for that.”

Sulabh says that if the government helps in the construction of infrastructure, the students, teachers and parents will be greatly relieved. He has already met the Education Minister and discussed about this.

He hopes the government would at least provide electricity and internet to schools in rural areas. They have also urged the local government to make lights, internet and display items.

In the meantime, they also went to the local level to discuss. He went to Sunwal Municipality and had discussions with schools, mayors, deputy mayors and ward chairpersons.

“They have said that education should be the first priority and infrastructure should be built,” Sulabh said. “Instead, they have said that they should invest in it even if the road is reduced by three kilometers.”

There is a lot of inequality in education in the country. First, there is a huge gap between public and private schools. Another thing is that students who have passed class 12 or graduation do not develop skills at all. As a result, they are forced to go to the Gulf countries without efficiency.
