Apple’s Vision Pro headset more expensive than it should be: Mark Zuckerberg

Apple recently unveiled its much-anticipated augmented reality headset Vision Pro at WWDC 2023 on Monday.

According to a report by The Verge, Zuckerberg discussed his reaction to Vision Pro’s technical features. He said that the pricing of the headset is more expensive.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg expressed his opinion about Apple’s Vision Pro in a meeting with the company’s employees.

Zuckerberg told his employees that it might be a good tool for the future of computing, but it wasn’t the tool he envisioned.

According to Zuckerberg, MetaQuest serves as a means to build virtual communities and increase engagement, while Apple’s Vision Pro is built for single use.

Unlike Meta Quest and Meta Quest Pro, Apple’s Vision Pro uses eye movements and hand gestures for control. This eliminates the need for controllers.

Additionally, it has a transparent display and a lightweight design. The Vision Pro starts at $3,500, while the Meta Quest Pro, Meta’s most expensive headset, starts at $1,000. This is why Zuckerberg said that Apple’s products are more expensive than they should be.

Zuckerberg responded to Apple’s Vision Pro device pricing, saying that Meta’s upcoming Quest 3 headset will be priced at just $499, compared to the Vision Pro’s $3499, which will be much cheaper.

Due to Quest 3’s low price, a large number of users will be able to use this device. Notably, Apple’s announcement seems to add challenges for Meta in the AR VR market.
