Bank of Kathmandu launches contactless card

Bank of Kathmandu has launched Contactless Visa Debit Card. The bank has stated that the new card has been used to provide excellent services and facilities to the customers by making the highest use of technology.

Cards based on Near Field Communication (NFC) can be used on POS machines with tap facility.

With this technology, payment can be made by simply tapping on a POS machine from a limited distance without having a card inside the machine.

According to the bank, to reduce the risk of Covid-19, paying through this contactless card will make it easier for the customer to maintain personal distance.

Currently, customers can trade up to Rs 2,000 per transaction through this technology. Bank of Kathmandu has been providing banking facility to the customers from 90 branch offices, 78 ATMs and 10 extension counters.
