CNI and Daraz to collaborate to promote indigenous products

An agreement has been reached between the Make in Nepal ‘Swadeshi’ of the Confederation of Nepal Industry and the online platform company Daraz to promote the products of the members involved in the Swadeshi campaign.

Make in Nepal ‘Swadeshi’ is a campaign being conducted by the Confederation of Nepal Industry in partnership with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply.

With the main goal of building a self-sufficient economy by increasing domestic industrial production and making Nepali goods and services accessible to national and international markets, the Confederation is conducting the ‘Make in Nepal-Swadeshi’ campaign from 2021.

CNI has been doing policy advocacy for the industries involved in the Swadeshi Campaign, assisting in networking and marketing, promoting indigenous products, and enhancing the skills of workers.

An agreement has been made with Daraz for the purpose of assisting in the marketing of goods and services of Swadeshi members. According to this agreement, Daraz will create a Swadeshi section on its online portal ‘Proudly Nepali Channel’.

Swadeshi members can place their items in this section. Also, Daraz will provide other measures and facilities to promote Swadeshi.

According to this agreement, Daraz will provide necessary training, consultation, and information to Swadeshi members to buy and sell products of the members involved in the Make in Nepal Swadeshi campaign on Daraz’s platform.

Rajesh Kumar Agarwal, the president of the confederation, said that this agreement with Daraz was made with the aim of providing marketing and networking support to the members involved in Make in Nepal Swadeshi Abhiyan.
