The program was attended by prominent people, government officials, public representatives, IT officers, private sector, stakeholders and general public.

The awareness program related to Citizen App was started from Jumla in Karnali province from Thursday and was conducted in Surkhet on Friday. Now it is being organized on June 14th in Ghangadhi and on June 15th in Nepalganj.

The program will conclude on May 26 in Pokhara, Gandaki province. Programs are being held in all seven provinces with the aim of informing the stakeholders and general public about the services available in the citizen app. It is said that programs will be conducted emphasizing digital literacy.

A few years ago, the government of Nepal launched a citizen app with the aim of providing government services easily, quickly and safely through mobile phones. More than 27 million people have downloaded the Citizen App and 53 more services are available.

The Center has called upon everyone to download and use the app available on Android and iOS. The Center informed that it will be made effective by adding user complaints and other services.

It is mandatory to have a mobile number in your name to use the citizen app. After that, the account can be opened with citizenship, passport, voter ID card or driving license.

However, the user complains that some personal details including citizenship are also displayed incorrectly. To address this, the center is coordinating with the Ministry of Home Affairs and district administration offices to correct the details.
